About me:

My name is Sasha Raskin. I’m a Number 1 Best Selling Co-Author in 12 Countries, a Doctoral student in Counseling Education and Supervision, a coach, a psychotherapist and an adjunct faculty at a graduate counseling program at Naropa University.

One of the things I’m enjoying the most is helping other therapists and coaches build their successful private practice so that they could actually help the clients they were taught to help, and thrive themselves. I’m almost always fully booked, so my ability to work with individuals is limited. That is why I’ve created this program to deliver powerful results and create a community where you will feel supported by each other!

This program's primary goal is to help you build a thriving private practice, in a fun and authentic way. Counselors and coaches invest an incredible amount of time, money, and effort into building their helping skills. However, when their training ends, they usually find themselves lacking the business skills that are needed to start and run a successful private practice, feel isolated, discouraged and not knowing where to start.

I believe that to be truly helpful to others, therapists and coaches have to learn to thrive themselves and definitely know how to get clients whom they can help.

This is where this program comes in. If you're willing to learn and work hard, a 6-figure private practice is within your reach in a year - 2 years. This program will give you a clear outline, and detailed instructions on how to get there.

Marketing Strategies For Private Practice Therapists

This is Sasha Raskin going live from Boulder, Colorado on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter live. I hope you're having a good day so far. I'm a counselor, I'm a coach and I'm the founder of the six figure practice. And today we are going to talk about something important which is marketing - how marketing can actually help you become a better therapist and a better coach.

Now humans are really good with dichotomies, right? We create boxes and we put different things into them. And many times counselors and coaches completely separate their counseling work or coaching work from growing their business, right? It's as if those are two different things completely. And the thing is that this mindset prevents private practice owners growing their practice. Why? Because the thinking is like this - okay, I came into this profession to actually help people and I'm not here to be a business owner. I don't know anything about marketing, or I do know what I need to be doing but I don't really like it, right?

So my goal today with this quick video is to bridge that gap between marketing and therapy and coaching and to show you that if done right marketing can actually be the beginning of your therapeutic process with your clients or coaching. So this video is both for coaches and counselors, that's why I'm talking about both.

So it goes like this - your potential clients will be attracted to you and to your work if you create your marketing in the right way, which is, for example, in your about me page sharing your own hero's journey, what brought you to be doing this work, what are the challenges that you worked through. And then relating to it can be a very powerful bridge. Now what happens you think if they can relate to you before they even call you? Your potential clients then when they become your clients they already created that initial bond with you before you're doing anything, just based on the work, the initial work that you put into writing a good marketing text on your website. By the way, if you want some tips on how to write that marketing text you can just go to the sixfigurepractice.com, there are tons of free resources there.

Now as one of my teachers said, "We're in the business of hope," the more your clients have hope about you being able to help them create the changes that they want in their lives or the way they feel about themselves and their lives the more efficient your work will be. So in NLP, or as Tony Robbins calls it, it's called pre-framing. So what you see behind me, all those diplomas - that's not an ego thing, it's a very strategic thing that I use to pre-frame myself as a therapist/coach that can help people efficiently, right? So in a weird way it's kind of like using a placebo effect in therapy and coaching.

So a pre-frame basically means everything that comes before the work itself, right? So when you can create confidence for your potential clients that you are the person that can help (only if you can really help, I hope that's clear) and that you can paint with your marketing text, for example, the picture of what it might look like for them when they work with you and after they work with you in terms of the outcome. When you can create that initial hope that change is possible, that they can create something different in their lives and get unstuck, your work as a therapist or a coach will be much more efficient just because you help them already in advance on your website or when they read the reviews on your website which is definitely something you should be doing.

They will trust themselves more, they trust you more, they will trust the therapy/coaching process, even both, and that's super important, which will honestly make you work with them after they become your client so much easier, right? Because they have already the buy-in.

I see, for example, when working with couples as a couple's therapists, many times one partner would be the person who is initiating a couple's therapy. They will be coming to see you but one of them has a bigger buy-in than the other, right? So usually they share my website with the other person so I know that my website is also a tool to get that buy-in from the other partner which is extremely helpful for you, first of all, to help them become your clients if it's a good fit and also once you start working together to get that buy-in from both of them.

So I hope it's been helpful in terms of seeing that marketing is not really separate from your work. And it's not that there is marketing and only then there is therapeutic work after they become your clients, there is an overlap, right? You are trained in having conversations and your conversation already starts with them before they even come to see you on your website. So in a way you're already creating that initial bond and that relationship through your marketing text, visuals, etcetera.

So if you want more resources just go to the sixfigurepractice.com. There are free trainings, podcasts, videos, articles pretty much covering everything you need to know about growing your private practice. And I'm also working with a group of counselors and coaches in a private practice accelerator, helping them to grow their practice. I think this month we had two people, two participants in the program, fill their practice - they're full. Now one of them is hiring another therapist, right? It grows into a group practice. The other person is just, "Well, I'm at 20 clients. That's where I want to be." So if you want to hear more details about helping you grow your practice just either comment or send me a message with the word details and I'll send those details to you. Have a wonderful day.
